I am deep in thought and hard at work prepping my presentation for the upcoming Warrior Moms Conference in Atlanta in just two weeks!
Public speaking is something that I have to push myself to do – even the thought of it right now makes me feel a little ill and sweaty. But in the spirit of walking-the-walk I am leaning into stuff that is both exciting and scary. My mantra right now is “feel the scary feelings and do it anyways”.
I’m off to a rough start because I was almost four weeks behind getting my slides in, but this weekend I am committed to prepping my speech, drafting my handouts, and then I will practice practice practice until I feel a little less sick and a little more confident.
I will be posting about my experience in the weeks to come! I promise to let you know about all the awesome parents I meet, all the anxiety coping strategies that I use to get me through, and all the very cool things that I learn from the other presenters. I wish you could all be there with me because there are some interesting seminars on all the latest research and support for parenting while living with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders so stayed tuned as I share the learning with y’all.
